I have the curliest craziest hair ever! I've been in a rut for about 2 years now, all I can do is put my hair up. I hate it and I feel immature with my hair always up. I straighten it sometimes, and it looks good like that but I need some hairstyles for curly hair so that I can leave it down. It always gets really frizzy, are there any good products and hair styles you know of??? please help!

if you have frizzy hair, put a staright perm in it. it works. because my friend did it. and use a lot of conditioner in your hair when you wash it. and use a curling iron.

good luck

I used to have the same problem.

1. Comb your hair in the shower while the conditioner is in it. Combing the hair after you get out of the shower will split the curls and make frizz.
2. Use a teeshirt, not a towel to dry your hair. The terry cloth of the towel can create frizz.
3. Use a shaping gel.
4. Use a product with oil in it. I know it sounds gross, but curly hair is dry, so it's okay, and I promise it will reduce frizz.
OR
5. Put some body lotion in your hair. It reduces frizz.
6. Keep brushing to a minimum. It makes frizz worse. Only brush and comb as necessary to keep the tangles out, and use a wide-tooth comb.

I usually leave my hair in a pony tail until it dries, then I wear it down. If I get any frizz, I simply add more hair products.

While your hair is up, pull a few locks of hair out and have some loose curls hanging down. I think it looks really pretty.

I hope I helped!

- Read the book and visit the sites below about curly hair. I did and my once horrible curly hair is now virtually frizz-free ringlets. Now I get compliments on my hair all the time! Straighten your hair- be happy for a day, learn to manage your curly hair- be happy for life!
- To style your hair using the curly-girl method you will need gel and conditioner at the minimum. Some less useful, but still nice stuff would be a blowdryer, a diffuser (reduces frizz in curly/wavy hair when used with dryer), and a microfiber hair turban (to dry wet hair while sleeping or in the morning).
-The main philosophy of the curly-girl method is to not use shampoo. This may sound unhygenic but it has actually made my hair less oily and dandruffy. Most shampoos contain some of the same chemicals found in laundry detergent (aka sodium laureth sulfate or anything close to that). They dry out curly hair. Also you shouldn't brush your curly hair dry because it damages the hair and makes it poof.
- Massaging of the scalp with conditioner to remove dirt is all that is needed. It will clean everything but super clingy silicones (cyclopentasiloxane and dimethicone are examples). Then rinse and spread conditioner on the outside layer of hair and the hair at the nape of your neck. Gently comb tangles out with your fingers or a wide toothed comb and rinse with cold/cool water.
- Do not brush/comb your hair after this point because it wil disturb the curl pattern (make sure you already have a part). It is also important to use gel on sopping wet hair and scrunch the hair with your fingers. Use a towel or paper towels to gently scrunch some of the water out. Then let your hair air dry or wait ten minutes and then use a blowdryer with a diffuser. Do not touch the hair while it is air drying or it will frizz!
- Use a moisturizing conditioner, such as Desert Essence Organics Italian Red Grape Conditioner (found at health food/organic stores). The combo of products that I use daily is L'Oreal Out of Bed Weightless Texturizer (comes in a black tub) and then Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Gel but there are more conditioners, gels, etc. on the websites.
- "Strictly Curls" is a book about curly updos and such. Curly hair looks good long with LONG layers. I like to sweep hair back with 2 crisscrossed bobby pins after parting my hair to the side. I also like to wear my hair half up and leave out individual curls to frame my face.
- Your hair may seem worse at first, but it is just adjusting. This takes 2 to 4 weeks begin working. This is hard to do if you don't read the book, or at least visit the websites. Naturally curly hair can be beautiful! Hope this helps!

curly hair is beautiful!!!!! i have it too but its not that curly! but it too gets frizzy ! and the only thing i can suggest is conditioning... once a week with oil (leave it on for half an hour before shampooing) also after washing hair at any time don't touch it with your bare hands (thats what makes it frizzY)

you can gel it

clip a section of hair on one side (its cute)
put it into a messy bun with a head hair band... it will luk better if you make your fringe section sort of fly away wavy!

gud luk!

Maybe its time for a hair cute; it won't hurt to get your hair cut and give yourself a new look with highlights. Aveda's Be Curly works since my hair is always curly too.

I would go to the best hair salon in my city and get help. You only need to go once for the expense, but you'll find out what to do.
