Because they hear about his stance on gay marraige and abortion, and believe (like most every other Christian that voted for him) that those issues trump the more important teachings of the Bible like taking care of the poor and promoting peace.

Mormons are conservative. Other than Harry Reid, ALL of the Mormon Senators and Representatives are Republicans.

Utah is a conservative state and tends to vote that way in most elections.

I am a Catholic. I definitely believe you can vote for a person because you feel he is the best qualified.
I think one Baptist leader made a very wise comment regarding Romney's candidacy. He said something to the effect that we aren't voting for a Head Theologian.

I am LDS and I voted for the NDP party (new democratic party) but Paul Martin won, then he was was involved in a scandal.
Not all Mormons are AMERICAN!

my guess is mormons don't want gay people to get married. john kerry supported gay marriage and so even though bush and kerry shared alot of the same political views, and bush wasn't very popular, a lot of votes were for bush simply because of his gay marriage stand.

as a Latter Day Saint, I prayed about the decision and decided there was NO least evil out there and voted no. So I didn't vote for him. Thank you

Yes, but Mormons tend to be very Conservative. They likely chose what they thought to be the lesser of two evils.

I didn't vote for him, anyway, I always vote Libertarian.
