Ive seen so many answers saying go to atheism because you'll be happier. Well ever since ive got confirmed and went to a TEC (teens encountering Christ) weekend ive been totally happy and since being a Christian for almost all my life ive been happy. So my question is Whats wrong with being a Christian and still be happy?

*** WHY THE *UNSUBSTANTIATED* ASSERTION??? ***

And there's nothing "wrong" - as long as you want to base your life on mytholgy - lots of people are happy with that.

"go to atheism because you'll be happier". I have seen this, not exactly put this way, but similar words have been written here.
As for your question, in my opinion, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with being a Christian and being happy.
Just so long as you aren't trying to force it on anyone else.
Many people find peace and happiness in many different religions, it is all in what speaks to you.
I happen to be Pagan, and quite happy thank you very much.
I wish you well, and don't let anyone rain on your parade. Be happy with who you are, which includes your beliefs.

There is nothing wrong with being Christian and being happy. But in your happiness, make a point not to put down people of other faiths because they have also found happiness in the faith of their choosing.

Many Christians are guilty of the same thing, telling people of other faiths who are content and at peace with their faith, that they "must" convert in order to get God's love. And we all know thats a bunch of bs.

So it goes both ways. By all means be happy and just allow others to do the same.

Some people believe that since Christian leaders are trying to brainwash people into blindly believing something that has no physical evidence and is therefore untrue. What people fail to realize I think is that Christianity gives so many people happiness and a way to improve their lives. I don't understand why people have to be so hateful either, but that's the way it would appear to be.

Absolutely nothing although I think happy is the wrong word. If it hasn't happened yet Satan will start attacking and things will get tough but God brings us a joy that passes all understanding. Jesus provides a peace for us. Not the peace that the world thinks of but his kind of peace and his life was anything but peaceful yet he had an inner peace. He never promised an easy road but it sure is a lighter load than the worlds load.

Nothing is wrong with it! When you are a christian you should have an inner joy that shines outwardly! Just be careful to realize that our faith must be founded on the facts in the bible not our feelings. Feelings will pass away...facts remain! Be Blessed!

Except for living in a fantasy world?

Christians have many ways to make others unhappy.

Theists, especially christians, try to control and restrict us based on their views. If all christians stop crusading against science, culture, art, sex and sexuality, religious freedom and such, and stop telling everybody else they're going to be tortured throughout eternity unless they join you, I assure you that you won't encounter nearly as much hostility.

Also: moderate religion opens the door to extremism.

nothing wrong with being a happy Christian as long as you're not forcing your Christian happiness into the government and seeking to make your theocratic happiness the law of our secular country.

being happy with your version of "God" and minding your own spiritual business is a good thing.

Not only is there nothing wrong with being a happy Christian, thats what a true Christian will be. Some people will say we arent to be joyous as we are to be mourning for the lost. That is not Biblical at all, and its the devil once again bringing in deception to the word of God. Study and pray , and you will see... BEing a Christian means not just believing in a god. Many believe in a god that does not believe in Jesus as saviour. Thats their religion and everyone has a right. But note the CHRIST, in Christian. It means to be a follower of Jesu Christ. Meaning, we live like Him, love like Him, think like Him, forgive like Him, and we obey Him, the way He obeys Father GOD. anything less is not a Christian, tho so many wear that title. Jesus was happy and kind and joyful, and gave love to all, tho He has another side that must deal with sin, because HE loves us so much, He wont live us in that condition, as He wants us to be saved. Thats why He died for us, to be saved. We arent free to sin, we are free from sin, if we are truly Christian. and none of us can do that on our own. We can only do it by following Jesus, abiding in Him, and loving Him enough to obey. GOd says obedience leads to blessing, and disobedience leads to curse. We that are Christian KNOW that we will be victorious overcomers with Jesus, and are on the way to Heaven. This world we are in NOW in temporary. WE get thru it day by day with Jesus, and we celebrate knowing we will soon be in Heaven with Jesus. Now, if that doesnt give us reason to jump for joy, and be happy, what can? People go to ballgames and yell and scream and are so excited. But, when we jump for joy for our Jesus, people say we are acting crazy. But, we must forgive them, they know not what they do. YOu continue to be happy, and show the world what God can do for you. We have so much to celebrate. Never apologize for the joy God gives to you. The joy of the Lord is our STrength, where do you think joy comes from???? HALLELUJAH>
Never stop Praising God, and celebrate every day in Christ Jesus.
If athiesism leads to joy, why do we see so many that are out there doing as they please, living against anything God says, and so many are so miserable, and so many suicides? Why do so many need drugs to cope today. Look at all the murders, rapes, all of it, all the violence and depraved living, and tell me everyone in this life is happy today. They know us because they are jealous, whether they know it or not.
You have it all when you have Jesus. Worth more than all the gold and silver in the world. CELEBRATE.
Jesus is really the reason for the season... and its not Christmas. He is the reason for every season..... I count it all as Joy.....

I was raised Baptist and since growing up and getting to think on my own, I've discovered that most "born again Christians" are among the most biased, hateful, bigoted, racist people on the face of the Earth. I can speak like this because I was one. I went to Christian school and all we were taught was you couldn't be friends with anyone who believed differently than the church taught. Everyone who believed differently than my church did, was going straight to hell. Anyone who thought on their own , had their own opinions and dared question the teachings and preachings we received 3-4 times a week was actual an agent of Satan and was going to hell.
I believe that God loves everyone. He created everyone. He wants us all to love each other as He loves us. Simple. But Christians have taken it upon themselves to be the sword and hammer of God. Instead of helping their fellow man, they scream "GOD HATES FAGS!" and encourage the violence that follows any human being different than themselves. I could go on for hours about why Christians are among the scariest people on earth, Christians tend to focus on what's wrong with everyone else while ignoring the sin inside themselves. Christians have appointed themselves, Judge, Jury and Executioner of all humanity. All in the name of God who declares that He is Love. Doesn't make sense, does it?
