So called? Its called the 16th amendment to the constituion of the United States. Just as you have the right to bear arms, and to free speech, you have the obligation to pay income tax.
The 16th amendment was proposed on 7-12-1909 and was ratified by a majority of states on 2-3-1913
No stop telling people they don't have to pay when you dont know what your talking about. Most of the disputes have been over what exactly constitutes income.

Edit: Yes there have been many disputes, but the Supreme Court has yet to rule against it, at least not in the favor of any individual.

The SC has ruled on the side of the US in every case that challenged the legality of the income tax laws or the validity of the ratification of the 16th Amendment to The Constitution.

By the way, laws are not ratified. They are passed by Congress and then signed into law by the President or automatically become law without action by the President unless the "pocket veto" provisions apply at the end of a Congressional session.

BTW, the 17th Amendment didn't authorize income taxes as most people think. It allowed an income tax to be levied without apportionment. Prior to the 16th Amendment, direct taxes (which included income taxes at the time) had to be apportioned among the several states based upon the states' population. The 16th Amendment had the effect of treating income taxes as "indirect" taxes which were never subject to apportionment.

The implementing legislation for income taxes is Title 26 of the US Code. Every challenge to its validity has been ruled in favor of the US by the SC.

Every year a number of people who believe that the income tax system is not legal receive an all expenses paid vacation to Kansas or some other exotic location. I have noted that a large number of Federal Correctional Officers live in or near those locations so they must be very appealing. Perhaps if you operate under this practice long enough you will win one of those vacations.
