Christians always claim that athiests are "blind to the truth". Such as referenced by "Amazing Grace".
However, I have been christian, and let me tell you, they are the ones who wear the blndfold of religion. Everything that goes into their eyes has some christian spin on it to where they cannot even see the truth anymore. THAT is in-fact the definition of blind. That is why they judge everyone and everything to a standard.
I don't know people, what do you think about it, and give some serious answers... not "Jesus will guide you to the truth".

Unfortunately there are many Christians who believe they have the right to judge others. This however is not what Jesus taught. We do not have the right to judge others. That is not to say that we cannot see sin for what it is.
The song "Amazing Grace" is speaking about someone seeing their own condition. The man who wrote that song, was a captain of a slave ship. The tune was wrote to the moans of the slaves he had on the ship. He was writing about his own condition not everyone else's.
However, if we see a brother or sister in Christ blatantly sinning against God, it is our duty to talk with them, not in a judging way, but in a loving way to draw them to God's truth as it is in God's Word. After all isn't that what we would want someone to do to help us?
We do not have the right to judge those that have never known Him. We are to lift up Christ, He will draw all men to Him.
I guess the core issue is that many Christians cannot separate the sin from the sinner. We are to follow Christ's example. He loves the sinner but hates the sin. We are to do the same.

I can admit that I have tried to blindfold myself. Only look at one side of an argument (Mine, obviously). So, in order to understand Christians, I went to their church for a day. I read the bible. And from my studies, I concluded that:
A) The bible is so contradictory that it isn't even funny
B) Church is boring
C) I'm glad I learned about it, and thankful that I don't wear a blindfold.
D) Priests are evil.
E) I am so thankful that my parents didn't raise me Christan! They want me to chose whatever I want, and don't try to influence me.
F) I absolutely LOVE being an Atheist!

I was a Christian for most of my life. And not just a church-going Christian, but a serious student of Theology. Christians are delusional. I know, because I used to be delusional too. After learning all there was to learn, I simply woke up one morning and could no longer believe the lie.

Christians believe in the word, but the only word is God. So other than that, any and all claims about the truth is null. We are supposed to be sharing opinions about the truth (my opinion by the way, not the truth), and so anyone who says someone is "blind to the truth" is being poetic, poetically detrimental and annoying to their fellow human being.

Just one thing to think about: have you ever contemplated why do christian priests so fondly use the metaphor about the believers as "god's sheep" or lambs, and claim they need to be led?

I agree that people who refuse to see the reality beyond their religion are indeed wearing a blindfold.

Maybe you've just exchanged one kind of blindfold for another. You seem to look at Christians the same way that they look at atheists. Have your eyes really improved any?
