Hello everybody.
I have a new kitten she's 2 months old and very cute, but I already have anoher cat and she's 1 year old. The thing is the new kitten wants to play with her, but she doesn't like her. I keep them separated because i'm affraid the oldest will bite or hurt her.

Do u know if this is just a stage and eventually they'll get along well?

Yes they will...
It takes a little adjustment for the older cat...
They will be playing together in no time!

The older cat feels threatened that you've brought another cat in. Make sure you're still spending lots of quality time with the older cat and she knows shes not being replaced.

When you're around, let them be around each other, let the older cat show the younger cat who's boss. Thats the only way she'll ever except it. And having a two month old, its a great age for the kitten to learn to deal with other animals. Your other cat obviously wants to be dominate, and theres nothing wrong with that, cats have their own hierarchy.

dont keep them seperated all the time, if youre around to supervise, let them get to know each other, even if they kind of spat at first, as long as theyre not tearing at each other, let them go. The kitten will eventually learn that the older cat is in control and they'll get along fine.

My husband and I got a very shy six-month old tabby; three months later we adopted a rambunctious black and white kitten. Although we occassionally catch them sleeping next to each other, they don't get along well at all - it's just that their personalities are so different. Now the younger one bullies the older one. Even though they don't love each other, every once in a while they'll play together, and we give both of them equal attention so it's not a major problem.

Separating could make it worse, since the older cat is jealous and then will feel left out. Just make sure you give the older cat a lot of attention, and they will eventually become the best of friends. They aren't that far apart in age, I got cats around those ages (a year apart) and they at first acted this way, but during the next decade and longer they became best buddies who cuddled and played all the time.

I have two male orange cats that are brothers and extremely close who are about a year old. A couple months ago I got a baby female black kitten. At first the older cats were not accepting of her at all and tried to fight with her. Within a little over a month they were all playing together and the best of friends. I think it just takes time!

They should be fine in a week, at the most two weeks. You have to let the older cat show the kitten that she is the dominant female in the house. As long as you stay very close, I would let them get to know each other. Definitely keep them separated unless you are home. My two cats were the same way. Now they don't even bother each other.

It may be a stage. However, I have heard that two female cats together don't get along sometimes. It is possible that the two cats will never get along.

I don't think you should keep the two of them separated. The two cats need to learn to live with each other. However, it may not be a good idea to leave the two of them alone if you are not home.

Good luck!

They will eventually get along. Just give them time. I have friends who have been through this as well. Now the cats are best friends.

They'll eventually get along, or tolerate each other.

Both are young, and as long as you give your adult cat the attention she's used to, she'll find out the kitten isn't a threat.

give them time to get used to each other. i went throught the same thing with my cats and it took them a month to tolerate each other and now three years latter they are inseperable. you should however keep an eye on the kitten just incase the older cat gets brutal.
