No insult intended. But wearing a veil, as I understand promoted by the Muslim faith, assumes that men will look sinfully on all women so they need to cover up to avoid leading the haplessly sexed man into sin.

no they cover up the women because they have facial hair they were being kind as they didn`t want to tell there wives they look like goats. The fact they have loads of kids is due to them not using contraception not due to a higher sex drive

No not at all.Woman (like myself) wear the hijab to stop men looking in a sexual way towards woman,it's a respect factor.Men are suppose to cover to a point as well.
And to an earlier comment made,I am born and breed British,I re verted into Islam 2 years ago,I wear the hijab(veil) for my religion, and I do not get men leering at me in the street, and if a man does speak to me,he is so much more respectable towards me.

We are not promoted to where a veil. Oh this gets so old!
Women who CHOOSE to wear a face veil to it to please Allah and to follow the wives of the prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Women and men in Islam dress modestly. Its not all to do with female attraction. It is also respecting your parents, family, neighbors and any children around.
Would you want your child looking at an aunt with her skirt up to her behind and her boobs popping out? Or an uncle just in flip flops and short with all his bits dangling around? Or a man dressing like that in front of your daughter or mother?

What i have in terms of anything that is considered beauty is for my husbands eyes only, its not for free for anyone in the street to ogle.
And it is a sin for a Muslim man to look at a woman twice IE to look once is for free to look twice is against you. So Muslim men from a very young age are taught to respect women as they would there mother, sister, aunts and cousins. When they see another woman they respect her in the same way they would want others to respect there family members.
Muslim men are men who save themselves for marriage. Compare that to your average 27 year old how many sexual partners have they had? 10? 15? 20? 50?
Who would you say was the more "randy" a man who is god fearing and saves himself for his future wife or a man who has several one night stands a week?

Good LORRRD!! :|
It's not just Muslim men that women have to be careful with; it's ALL men!
And, by the way... "veils" (where the woman's face is covered) aren't obligatory in Islam; only hijabs are, and that means that we cover our hair, chest region, arms, and legs from men in order that they won't desire us lustfully. Some people disagree, and that's their opinion :D.
And if you further wanna understand (truthfully) why hijabs are worn, here's an answer of mine here on Y/A to that question asked by someone else:

I do not think so.Rape cases are very few in Muslim countries compared to western countries.Perhaps it may also be due to harsh punishment in Muslim countries.Permission of polygamy is another escape valve for sex generated pressures.

The veil over the face is not compulsory for women and they do it out of their own free will. And the last time I checked the strip clubs and porn shops were filled with non-Muslim men. So no to your question!

GENE wants muslims to vanish. But they are more than 1000000000. Yet, they must vanish to let him answer a question supidly. We should be considering that there are muslims on the web insulting any person means we are coward people who use the internet not to be punished in this way it pleases every peaceful human being whatever his religion is to quit this Q&A program.
I think the question is good but answers should never be insulting any type of people.

Judaism and Christianity also originally told women to cover up. Islam is the only one of the three that stuck with it.

I am Muslim and I have no desire to so much as hold another womans hand, so, no. I am less randy than I was when I was a Christian or an Atheist.
