Just one of those things that seems so small and unimportant. When someone says something about another that is untrue, it brings an assault against their reputation and sometimes legal standing.

if you are pointing out that gossip goes unchecked in many of our churches then good point please keep hammering it home cuz we need some accountability. As a group we are known to go round voicing our disrespect for gay people but actually often let gossips run our churches. Not saying that practicing same sex gratification is good for anyone as there are many diseases such as chronic prostititis is spread this way as is yeast infections but bearing false witness against another damages far more people and christians seem to forget Paul clearly stated that such a these will not inheret the kingdom.

Thou shalt not steal.

The commandments are divided into two sections. The first 4 of them are about the relationship that we have with God. The other 6 are about the relationship that we have with everyone else. The commandments are not just about God, but they are also about everyone else and the we way we are treating them. Christ said all of the commandments can be summed into two commands. We are to love God with all our ability. We also are to love one another as ourselves. It sums up the two divisions of the commandments.

Yes, I am aware that breaking one is as serious as another. However, we shouldn't turn Christianity into a list of rules and regulations. We can never be "good enough" to earn a way in God's favor. We are under grace. Thank God for Grace!!

Yes, and I am also aware that Jesus said the whole entire law and the prophets hinges on these two commandments:

Love the Lord with all your soul, mind and strength.
Love your neighbor as yourself.

Jesus said to love our neighbor as yourself, even your enemies. So? Love one another to fulfill the law.
