then what is their motivation to live a moral life?

No offense to jews, and I am not a christian... just wondering. Personally, I think Christianity was the final draft of the Jewish religion where they went back and fixed all the typos.

I try to lead a moral life because that is what people are supposed to do. I do not fear eternal damnation, because there is no eternal damnation. I do not live this life for what happens after death, I live it to make things better for those that follow in this life after I am no longer here. The fact that people need to fear eternal fire to be good is pretty sad.

As Christians commonly say about other Christians on this forum;' Only some Christians are real Christians.

Well, the majority of Jews live lives moral enough without being threatened with horrible tortures. Neither do they have Shouters who condemn them or promise them paradise to manipulate them.

They have something Christians have never had and the Christians thusly substuted fear for pride. The Jews are the Chosen people of the Hebrew God. No one can prove to them that Jesus is the Messiah as Jesus is not of the line of David. His Mother was Jewish, so Jesus is Jewish, but Mary is not of the line of David. Neither does Jesus have a blood father on earth so he cannot claim any Father's line to David.

The concept that there needs to be a fear of punishment in order for a people to do good is a uniquely Christian belief, and one of the beliefs that make Jews afraid of Christians sometimes. Those who ask that question are basically admitting that without the fear of hell and the reward of heaven, they'd be doing whatever horrible thing they pleased on Earth.

Do you honestly believe that no one could have motivation to live a moral life without the threat of eternal punishment? If so, that's really sad.

Most religions do not have a hell to fear.

We don't need a sort of "reward" to live a moral life--we obey G-d's laws because G-d is our G-d and our Creator, and don't you think we owe Him at least that? We live a moral life because it is the moral thing to do. We don't need a dog treat at the end.

If the only reason to live a moral life is to avoid punishment, then one is not living a moral life.

In Judaism, the goal is to follow as many commandments in the Torah as one can, morality is not a part of it.

Jewish people DO have a concept of Hell. The Christian Bible contains the Torah of the Jewish people. The Bible also contains the New Testament. The New Testament concerns the fulfillment of Jesus' life to the Old Testament.
