Your question and others like it, lead me to conclude that there are a lot of people in touch with the futility and absurdity of this culture/world.
I believe that the 'search' for the answers..Who am I, Where am I going (and in what essence or afterlife) and Why? ALL provide the nexus for the quest. I believe that to see and believe Christ and Christianity as in a "process" to evolve --this world and women and men in it....Provides the reason to be in this world that makes you significant, can make you exalted and makes you God's instrument.
I believe the dichotomy of good and evil is the vas...that God is using to bring this arduous process to fruition.
Now, back to "is that all there is"? A classic..hmmm jazz singer type Peggy ..??? Great song, regardless.. Great question...
What is our reason to be in america ??? You won't like it...
"to get out of debt"..."to have a good credit score"..."to sit above others' in my Cadillac SUV"...and to deny my existential loneliness..by paying for 'unlimited minutes' on my cell phone; so I can pretend that I am connected.
You are soo right...there has to be more....Please, go and find it. If I can help...I will.

Yes there is more to life than just the normal born grow study marry work provide save get old die.But where do u go to know rest of the life u are missing so u can live it? To GOD.yes once u know ur creator and why he created u and why u are here that adds everything up.to know GOD u need to know JESUS.
"For GOD so loved the world that he gave his only beggotten son that whoso ever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life".So ask JESUS to be ur saviour and forgive ur sins and cleanse ur life.

There is much more to life. Here is a good concept to live by: Do not go to the past because it is gone. Do not go to the future is has not arrived. Just think on this day and live it to the fullest! It is never tomorrow because it is always today!!!
We Live many lifetimes in many planes of existence but The All is in control of everything.

This life is not a party. It is to prepare for Heaven.
Read your Bible.
We are not hear to see how much we can earn, own, see how many cars we can buy, get a swimming pool, build a big house for someone to inherit,go shopping, eat stake and shrimp.
All this is good, but if you do it at the expense of your soul, you have failed.
We live at the most about 80 years. Some live 1 minute. When they get to heaven, I promise you they are not thinking about this earth and what they may or may not have missed.

like all life we are basically here to procreate. since we now live longer then we were originally intended we have to find other ways to embrace life.
