I guess that if you do not believe in the thoery of creation, which is depicted by the bible as God, a Supreme Being, creating the heavens and the earth. Why separate I am unsure however the bible is written by man and we know how that is. At any rate, athiests either believe in theory of evolution or just simply refuse to believe anything that is not supported by scientific fact or evidence that can be held in their hand. That tells me that simply that we are here that an origin is somewhere and descending from one celled organisms is a far shot but I guess if you do not have a faith based belief, it is more than no idea. People with no idea scare me personally and tend to have a darker side. The explanations of the bible in the creation of all that is, with a little faith is easier to comprehend than 60 billion years of evolution based on ???????? That is further back than anyone can remember or even substantiate, therefor we would have to take scientific word on it or in other words a faith based belief of man. Knowing already that man did not create the heavens and the earth, that belief is kind of weak to me so I will go with the Devine creation of the universe. Along with that belief, the word says that God is the alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. He always was and always will be. That just about encompasses the limits of my comprehension and it fits what I see moreso than evolution.

The universe was formed from matter which was already present. There was never 'nothing'. Contrary to popular belief, outer space is not empty space and it never has been. Just because you can't understand exactly how or why it occurred is not evidence for God creating it.
There are some things that don't have a cause. One of these is radioactive decay. Every now and then, an atom of uranium will decay - it splits into smaller atoms and it gives off an alpha particle. Suppose we look at two uranium atoms side by side. We know that after a certain time, one of them will decay. But we have absolutely no way of knowing which one will decay. Atoms of uranium decay for no reason, and as far as we can tell, the Big Bang happened for no reason - it just happened.

Better question- why can't the religious folk answer the question about dinosaurs, and explain the planets.

I mean if God exsists then should he have only created one planet around a single star? Why create more then that? Why doesn't God publish the Bible on his own- why have man do it? I mean that would convence me- "whow! that bible just appeared out of thin air! Guess that proves to me there is a God."

Instead I get to see a two year killed by a rubber necker, and hold a six year old girl while she dies. Ya, God cares.

As far as the unversal stuff- there are lots of theories what it was before, if you want to call it God poo then I will agree, but to say God snapped his fingers and created all of this. Nah, your that is insulting to my intelligence

What makes you say the universe always existed, and if it did how could it be a made thing. The universe seems to have both a production date and a best before code from what science can tell.
Maybe the Universe started like this;

Our observations of the universe advise that it got here into life 13.seventy seven billion years in the past. At a while in the very distant destiny, this is going to end to exist. to bypass previous that demands a philosophical attention of what we advise by making use of life. the concept of everlasting transformational life is a function of pantheism. It potential that regardless of if the universe seems to have a commencing up and an end, it only variations variety.

Atheists don't claim the universe always existed. It simply isn't known whether something always existed, or if everything started at the Big Bang.

Atheists do however often make the point that if theists claim that God created the universe, they need to answer the question 'who created God'. 'God always existed' isn't answer to that question because if something could have always existed, why not the universe?

The universe was just there. It was all one giant rock trillions of years ago and eventually broke up into what we see today. Eventually our rocks (earth,moon,Saturn etc.) will break into smaller pieces an on and on and on till there is nothing left. This will take another trillion years so we have all the time in the world lol
Think about the black holes in space where do those bring you?? to other universes!
We are not the only ones and Jesus or God had nothing to do with it.

I can't get my head round the fact that believers don't grasp that even if no explanation were forthcoming it wouldn't justify inventing a deity and pretending he was the creator. The fact that this question gets asked gives an insight into the fuzzy logic that believers resort to to desperately try and bolster their belief in a God. Far from convincing me that God exists it convinces me that religion and religionists must be avoided. They live in a fantasy world that I want no part of.

God created the universe. If you are a good peson, then you agree and believe the bible, and if you do, read genesis, which is going to answer all you question about this beautiful universe that God has given us. But what makes me mad, is that we don't take care of it, so now global warming is happening, so who know if this beautiful universe is still going to be there in 10 years, or if we are going to survive in 10 years, this global warming, which is possibly going to kill most of the people :(

Who said it had to be made? Self-organization of matter is an observed phenomenon. Why can't theists get their heads around that? It seems more probable for a tremendous mass-energy to unfold into a universe than for an intelligent being capable of creating the universe to come into being.
