For the last two days or so my Green Spotted Pufferfish has been acting stressed and lethargic, turning a very dark color with black splotches on its stomach.

I recently noticed an odd lump in his stomach and up along his side above the stomach. The exlanation I came to was that he must have swallowed something distressing.

Will inducing vomitting solve this? Is there a way to do this with fish, one that will not be harmful to a scaleless fish like a puffer?

Moved him to a sick tank and increased the salinity a bit, he seems to be doing better but I'm still concerned about the stomach lump.

He died this morning, it wasn't the salt level, it may have been a parasite

I won't claim to be a puffer expert, but this doesn't sound too good for your puffer. What you're describing sounds to me like he's been trying to wear down his teeth on the stones in your tank and has either broken off and/or swallowed a piece that's now causing an impaction. I'm not aware of anything that can be done for this, especially since the situation appears to have progressed for a while.

I'd recommend posting your question on wetwebmedia (http://www.wetwebmedia.com/ ) to see if the users Bob or Pufferpunk can give you any ideas.

ADDITION: Saw your edits - at what salinity are you keeping him - depending on the age, they need high-end brackish to marine conditions? If he's doing better, try offing some soft foods - sometimes this can push an impaction out if he's willing to eat anything and the cause is small enough.

in case you don't recognize if she were given into something, do not bring about any vomiting. You not in any respect favor to attempt this besides, without explaining precisely what the dogs ingested to a vet. If symptoms seem--lethargy,vomiting, intense drooling, then talk over with the vet.
