No...most orange cats are males but females can also be orange.
I work at an animal hospital so I see a lot of cats. From my own observation, orange cats tend to be self-confident and friendly. Our office cat, our official greeter, is an orange male named Roger.

orange is predominantly a color that is mostly male related. Due to genetics and very difficult to go into in length on this question site. Though Orange and Peach Solids andTabby females can happen they are generally not as red or deep orange (generally I said not always) The tend to be a washed out creamy peach color or a more yellowy orange. Just like Calico's and Tortishells are 90% female, but occasionally a rare male will pop up from now and then. I do have proof of a deep orange female cat that I fostered last year named Deedee. She had 7 kittens, 6 kittens were Red or fiery Orange males (classic and mackrel tabbies) and 1 was a Brown, Red/Orange, and White Tabby female calico. Also had a Persian foster named Wilma that was a Light solid Peach color. Out of her 4 kittens, she had 1 Red Tabby male, 1 Peach Tabby male, and 1 Peach solid female, and a White with Peach tabby spots female.

Orange cats are usually male, but there ARE female ones, too. I do not know the characteristic traits, since every cat is different, but the one I found, was a huge cuddle-bug.

Female cats can be orange. My best friend has a female orange cat. It has no special characteristics, it's a cat.

It is true that calico and tortoise-shell cats are almost always females! I have three orange-and-white cats (2 males, 1 female) and they are large, happy, and friendly. I have never met a "mean" orange cat.

It is extremely extremely rare for a female to be an orange tabbies. The females are generally tortoise shell, which means they are white, black and orange. Something to do with the genes. But I have seen orange and white girls, it's just very rare. I personally ADORE torties. (calicos are cute too, just more white)

I have a beautiful orange female named Topaz. She is as bright orange as her male litter mates.
According to our vet, UTIs are more common in male orange cats.
I have found that many of my orange cats are more sensitive, shy and affectionate than the others.
