No one can stop you from having the cigarettes in your hand carry, however, you will not be able to carry matches or a lighter on the plane nor will you be allowed to smoke until you reach your final destination.

depends on what airport security you go thru to be honest here in the states!! Memphis TN takes lighters in security then you go to a bar and ask for a light and you ask someone how they have one .....they said they just came in from another airport!! Honest!! Anyway, you can have cigs in your carryon luggage and I have even had 2 cartons in my checked but then you can buy the fold over book matches in the airport and those are ok.....or always have been for me with no problems anywhere here in states or overseas
