Am a student here in New York and also a Muslim from Abu Dhabi (UAE citizen). Recently got a nice Christian Friend and she invited me to her home and also to her church to attend a worship service. I never saw a church even in my country. During my several visits to the church, surprised to saw thousands of ppls singing songs , clapping hands and talking in tongues. My friend informed me that they are talking to God in tongues as they all filled with holy spirit. Me too felt that God’s presence there and some kind of power is flowing all over in the church. My christian friend told me about holy spirit from the bible that promised by Jesus Christ about a “COMFORTER” to send to this world to lead the believers in the right path. My Muslim friends told me that this comforter is mentioned in the Bible is about Prophet Mohammad(PBUH). Any way, Thas a Big lie! I decided to accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and savior . Now am scared to inform to my parents about my decision.

First thing I would like to say is please don't listen to those who come to you with sarcasm, skepticism and criticism. They say what they do for two basic reasons, either they don't understand or they do want to.

I to go to a church that worships and prays in manners that you describe. We draw strength in our prayers, but the enemy draws his hate from it.

Be glad for your new faith and rejoice in it, but also be cautious. Before talking to your parents please go to classes and learn first. Read the bible and get to know teachers of your faith. Many churches have special classes or teachers who help those who are converting. The more you know before you have this discussion the more help you will get. Pray often.

I come from a Christian faith, but not of a faith that believes as I do. Admittedly it is hard to talk to my parents about how I worship and what I believe. I know genuinely that God loves and protects me. I also know the more I learn and worship God, the stronger I get.

If you have any questions feel free to email me privately any time.

I'm happy for you...but original Christians remained secret because they were murdered by Romans for two centuries. They used the sign of Jonah, or the Fish to identify each other for over a hundred years.

You don't have to reveal this to your relatives. It may endanger them in the future, and Christ does not want you to be foolish.

Kindness, gentleness and love is His gift...but be careful.

I know that this is going to be so difficult for you to face your family but God has revealed His truth to you and now you have but one path to walk,it is the path of joy but also persecution as Christ told us it would be,but have courage and place yourself in the loving arms of Christ your Savior each and everyday, for the gates of Hell will not prevail.

When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior you are born again, this means you had a spiritual birth. Like any newborn baby you now need to learn to grow up.
What a baby mostly does is cry and eat, in your case this would be, cry out to your heavenly Father and eat His Word every day
1. Peter 2:2-3 "Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk,(God's Word) so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good."

Philippians 4:6-7"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

You are now at the BEGINNING of a new life. So, set aside time each day to prayerfully study God's Word and talk with Him about all your joys and cares. And then, listen to what He wants to say to you by His Spirit.

You have also now entered into a battle, and Satan will try anything he can to destroy your joy and fellowship with the Lord.

But don't worry once you have become God's child, He is willig to always take care of you to the end:
Php 1:6 "being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."
And also remember:
1. John 4:4.."the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world." -- that is Jesus.

Jesus has now become your good Shepherd:
John 10:27-29 "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand."

So, my dear "Baby Sister", concentrate for now on your "eating and crying" and wait until you have grown up a bit and know your Shepherd more intimately, before you tell your parents. You can ask Him to create the opportunity to share with your parents... and in the meantime you can ask Jesus to work in their hearts and prepare them for when the time comes to share with them.
