He's a lunatic. The way to form an opinion about him is not to listen to this one tirade and ASSume the child is spoiled.

You have to look at his habit of acting like a rabid psychohosebeast toward everyone w/in a 100 yard radius from him.

There is a fine line between letting there kids rule and house and parenting the way alec Baldwin went about is total wrong. There is no reason to swear at your children no matter how bad they are there are other ways of handling it but swearing and yelling in a a** hole tone especial to a 11yr old is unexceptable i know my son may get out of hand but i dont get to the point were i swear at them. Thats alittle too harsh. I mean it was 11 at night 11yr arent the bright thing and she probably forgot to charge it but in any case she is in the middle of horriable divorce which she shouldnt be.! its not health for the child. But us as a public we cant sit and judge or say what a bad parent he is either.... I mean parents arent perfect iwill say that lol. But i do say he could have handle it different. But also we dont know whats goingon in hislife or what he has gone thought maybe she is a spoiled brat! well thats my thought!

First of all calling someone a rude little pig is not parenting. It is one thing to say you are acting like one, but to call some one a name (especially your child) is acting just like a kid yourself.

Alec Baldwin is far from being a role model for parenting. "He left a profanity-laced, 2-minute-12-second message, berating her for not answering the phone." that is being an a**-hole, not a parent. Would you honestly do that to an everyday 11 year old? No, you would (hopefully) RAISE your child to be more respectful in the first place, and treat people that way. Most people in that capacity do not. This is another example of a kid in the middle of two angry (and at least one verified egotistical) actors. Their actions and lifestyle made their child that way in first place...would you have picked up the phone for him? I have lived with that type of father....believe me, he IS NOT being a dad.

As a parent and an adult, he has a responsibility to conduct himself in a much more appropriate manner. While his kid may or may not be spoiled ( we don't know this for a fact), he was way out of line.

I agree with you that kids today are getting away with alot more than we did as kids...parents do need to take more responsibility, but in not in the manner that Baldwin did..he was wasted and acted like an as$hole bully....

Permissive parents let their kids rule the home.

Strict, military-like parents believe that the boss of the house must be obeyed no matter what. Do as I say not as I do.

I disagree with both styles.
I am more in favor of a authouritative parenting style, it works better long term.

Rich ,poor, spoiled or not there is never an excuse to talk to your child in that manner. That's was horrible. There is a difference between an good stern talking to and verbal abuse.

I constantly theory 1st Earl Baldwin of Bewdley grew to become into form-solid because of the fact the bumbling arch-villains who theory they have been above all of it. As an actor he grew to become into constantly some thing of a hack, why grew to become into he dropped from the Clancy franchise after pink October and adjusted with Harrison Ford? shooting grew to become into adapted to Fords schedule, so 1st Earl Baldwin of Bewdley grew to become into available. final analysis is i think of Alec 1st Earl Baldwin of Bewdley is a bothered guy and consistent with probability a risky discern, whose P.R. anybody is making an attempt to spin him out of it. What you heard on the telephone grew to become right into a decision to a baby and that grew to become into NO ACTOR.

He and his psycho wife are equally nuts. Unfortunately, their behavior is "normal" for stupid people during divorce. It is just that they are under a microscope as they live out their loopiness.

Unfortunately, growing up with such parents will guarantee that their daughter, with the stupid name "Ireland" willl grow up as disconnected from reality and good behavior as Paris Hilton, another female with a disastrous name.

You only heard one side of that conversation and what he called his daughter was verbal abuse. No, I don't like the way he "stood up to his spoiled little brat rich daughter." Parents should never, ever call their children names! It hurts them just as much as if he had knocked her head into a wall!

Movie star or not, he has NO right to verbally abuse anyone, let alone his own child!
