Is using Limewire safe?

Many people have told me to use it cause it's free but I'm not sure if it's safe though.

Using anything that is p2p is potentially unsafe. Actually downloading it and installing it is fine...

However if you download a movie or audio clip that someone simply renamed that actually contains a virus...that's where you will run into trouble. Watch out for file extensions when you open what you download and you should be fine.
