Finding a church home varies for each person, but between these three, which did you personally prefer and why? Do you know of other Illinois Christian non-denominational churches in the same area that acknowledge God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit as one? Size does not matter. Thanks

I went to Willow Creek once and did not enjoy the "super-size" worship style. I prefer smaller churches, names, faces, people who would be concerned if they hadn't seen me in a month.

I have attended Willow Creek in the past. I don't want to take away from the experiences that others have, but it certainly wasn't for me. It was much too "show"-like and I didn't really feel like it was a "real" worship service. The sermon was a "canned" sermon...I mean, I had heard it before elsewhere. In fact, I even -- to the amazement of those around me -- quoted some of the things the speaker was going to say before he said it, because I had either heard or read that sermon before.

Their facilities are top-notch. I guess when you're the fastest growing Christian church in America, you can afford some nice facilities. Not bad for a guy who started a church meeting in an old abandoned theatre.

For me, worship in church needs to have "Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication." Willow Creek didn't get much past the adoration part.

I doubt I'd ever attend there again.
