Sure it's hard because you feel like you are letting the other person down. But you can't do all requests. Some you're too busy for, others may make you uncomfortable & others you just plain don't want to do.
It's better you say no, than say yes & grumble about having to do whatever & resent the other person or worse, not be able to do the request.
And don't let someone bully you or talk you into whatever it is.

It used to be, but I think this is something that becomes easier for people with age. As you have children it becomes alot easier to say no because you just never seem to care about anything that doesnt have yours or your childrens best interests at heart. I am now at the point where I can say no with ease, I am now working on not feeling like I need to offer excuses for why I am saying no. I'm a work in progress.
Good luck!

No, and the older I get (I'm 41) the easier it is to say no. However, there are times I don't want to do something, but I'll do it to make someone else happy, (like my husband or children), and then I'm usually glad I did it when it's all over.
So it's kind of hard to answer your question without more information.

It depends on the situation. I'm a softy and I hate confrontation, but since I know these are my weaknesses, I promise myself I won't give in.
I like to evaluate my stance. If it's too important to me, I will say no and do my best to be stubborn, but not angry or upset. If it's not and I'm just ill-inclined, I usually attempt a compromise with the group or person.

for me it is, especially if its one of my close friends or family members, but if its a total stranger, and depending on the question, its really easy.
i try to keep in mind, when i don't want to do something, that if i don't want to do it I'm either not going to have fun, or if its more of a work type think I'm only going to do a half @$$ed job because i didn't want to do it in the beginning.
so if you really don't want to do something, just say no, remember you want to live your life for you, no one else, because if you live or do things as others want you to , you'll miss out on what you really wanted to do , and end up regretting it.

Nope. If I don't want it, I'm not going to beat around the bush about it. Best to say no & move past it.

No, that just comes with maturity, and knowing how to be tactful and diplomatic, depending on the circumstances.
