If they are, why do we need religion?

Perhaps: I didn't say anything about keeping God locked up. I was talking about organized religion. Big difference.

A difficult question has posed by questioner to answer. The Founder of all religions have great thought to tell the path by which one can run his/her life in a proper manner and by making use of such said path one can experience about God. I cite here some pharse of Swami Vivekananda "The teachers all saw God,they all saw their own souls, they saw their future, they saw their eternity, and what they saw they preached.Only there is this difference that by most of these religions especially in modern times, a peculiar claim is made, namely, that those experiences are impossible at the present day;they were only possible with a few men,who were first founders of religions that subsequently bore their names. At present time these experiences have become obsolete, and, therefore,we have now to take religions on belief. This I entirely deny. Uniformity is the rigorous law of nature; what once happened can happen always. Accordingly,to know Gods are within us,we have to follow the paths which were told by Founders of religions, If you do not follow any religion, then speak truth and do your work with honesty, help to those who are in need of your help, you will fell about the presence of God in yourself.

God is within all of us, but what good does it do to keep god locked up, He has to come out of us to show that He is ever merciful, loving, kind and Just. That is where religion comes in, imagine if you as being part of your family, one that I am sure is treasured and loved, just stayed in a closet locked up, and not living to the fullest you can, do you think your family would be noticed, you would be noticed. God wants us to make Him visible to the world, that is what religion permits.
God bless and know that He loves you enough to die on the cross for you.

absolutely! I define a god as someone/something that has the ability to shape the world around it (must be living). therefore, we are all gods.

as to the question of religion, who on Earth has the same religion? NO ONE!!! everybody has a different image of what is morally correct, & religion tends to preach only one line. so we do not need organized religion.

we need to talk to each other & think. we need to teach our children what society & the family thinks are important & morally true.

Hey Jesus(freak) Loves...,
Judahism, Christianity, & Islam all worship the same god. Islam & Jewish faiths branch at Abraham, & Christianity obviously at Jesus. Don't say Christianity is the only faith. You are an idiot.

Hey I Have a.....,
First off nice handle. That's really humble. Real Christian like. Second, I have a family that taught me right from wrong. Didn't your folks do the same? The Bible is just a collection of words, written by men, & ultimately fallible.

Religions are organizations just as goverments are organizations. Most people depend on being told how to follow the system.
The world would have been destroyed long ago without organizations. People have always been slaves to the system. Who are these gods? Well of course men, like you and me.

I believe that there is one God. The God of Abraham and Issac. The Christian God, and that He sits on His most high throne in heaven. Not within each of us as individuals, we have the Holy Spirit as a comforter on earth, but as far as each person being their own god(s), no I do believe that

Yes, I believe that when Jesus died for us on the cross that God (singular!!) sent Himself in the form of the Holy Spirit to dwell within us, to help us every day.
All you have to do is ask and He is there for us any time of the day or night.
Religion is man made. Believers are the Church. The "church" we attend on Sundays is a building, Jesus' followers are the Church and we are to gather and worship Him.
Follow the Bible....

There is a Soul within all of us. But many people lose their Soulfulness by becoming to pre occupied with other worldly distractions. Religion is to try to help you balance worldly interests with spiritual interests.

although God's Holy Spirit may reside within our hearts, God exists separate from His creation and is eternal in His own right.
