"What's the point in going to college if you are going to die from lung cancer?"

That age group are more interested in status, looks and sex appeal. They think they are immortal, so focusing on the health effects pretty much falls on deaf ears. Focus on the immediate negative effects of smoking on appearance and sex appeal, i.e., wrinkles, dull/blemished skin, bad breath, smelly hair and clothes, etc. Use pictures of "common" looking people smoking, that sort of thing. You might also point out to guys that smoking effects their ability to attain and hold an erection. Needless to say, that is a big factor as well.

One thought for a slogan is a spin-off on the popular gum commercial right now..."Dirty mouth".

Edit: I really don't care who "thumbs downed" me, but let me tell you and others like you that, based on almost 30 years of health promotion experience, simply telling teens and young adults that smoking will kill you does not work! It goes against the mindset of that age group. Certainly you do include that information, but if you make that the focus, you are dooming your program to failure.

"Butts out" for Health!

The O-Zone! (Clean Air and Health Campaign -- use the symbol for NO (circle with line through it on the diagonal) in place of the "O")

Don't Tar me Baby! (Do you like the taste of the road? Then don't put it in your lungs and body!)
