The kittens are about 2 weeks old.The mother cat was begging to be let outside this morning at 7:30,so,I let her out(this is not unusual).Now its 12:00 in the afternoon and she hasn't come back to be let in.Should I be worried about the kittens?

You should go get the mother cat! if she wont come when you call her go out and open a can of cat food and she should come running it works every time for me!

If your cats are crying, let your mom cat in and let her play with her kittens for a while. But since they're two weeks old, that cat needs to be with her kittens whether she likes it or not.

Are the kittens crying? That does seem like a long time though. Have you tried calling her back?

Definitely not. Those kittens can easily survive in nature for at least a week before death from starvation. Don't worry.
