To make the smile look more natural. Watch urself in the mirror. If u laugh naturally, ur eyes light up and the upper part of your face reacts. If it's fake, the only thing smiling is ur mouth. Think of it as a whole face smile. And look at how u'll smile if u change how wide u open ur smile. Some pple smaller is better, others bigger. For picture taking time, think of how good u look and you'll smile naturally. Also take some digital pics on a camera and you'll see how u look smiling so u can practice. Have fun!

When you smile, have a reason to smile. When the camera starts rolling in, think about a time in your life where you were trully happy. That would make you smile NATURALLY. You can even think about something funny, that should also make you smile. Oh yeah one last thing, think about this. You're in prom and you're with the most gorgeous girl ever. That should make you smile. Fake smiles are ugly, remember that.

If you don't like your smile or you think it looks "forced" try a couple other expressions out in the mirror and choose 1 of thos OR have your date make you LAUGH like crazy ...a smile caused by a laugh NEVER looks forced

First of, prom is wayyyyyy overrated. if your prom picture sucks, oh well. it's just a picture of you at a dance.
Secondly, not everyone has that million dollar smile. I don't, and you're really lucky if you do.
Thirdly, the most natural smile is when you really do smile. think of a really funny joke or experience and allow yourself (NOT FORCE) to laugh.
Good Luck!

Oh, do have a wonderful time at your Prom
Jut think of something that makes you really happy and always makes you smile then go with it.
Don't try to contrive your smile. That mostly makes it look phony.

Why smile? If it looks forced, you'll always hate your photos. But if you really want a smile, ask the photographer to help you out. Maybe he or she can say something funny that will relax you.

Make sure it's not a straight-on mug shot.
Pretend like you are laughing about something (without throwing your head back of course)
Make sure both sides of your face are equal. Don't let one side of your face out-smile the other side. It'll keep things proportionate which makes a good picture.
Stand up straight, shoulders back, chest out (not too much of course) It'll make you look confident!
Good luck! Knock 'em dead!

Show your teeth and make sure you smile with your eyes. Think of something funny before getting the photo, and don't get someone that takes forever to press the button, that is so annoying

i have that same problem..but what i do is dont put your jaw together otherwise it looks forced. i smile openmouthed..but not TOO openmouted because then you look like your trying to model ( just make it enough to not look forced )
think of a funny joke so that u look natural from when you laugh with your friends.
hope this helps
