I usually just have the regulars: Chicken, burgers, hotdogs, maybe steak, what else should I make?

I make this at every BBQ that I have and its always a hit. Take 2 blocks of Philly Cream Cheese, 1 large jar, or 2 small jars of Salsa. Get some good salsa. Obviously whatever taste you and your guests have will determine the Hotness of the salsa you should purchase. Soften the Cream Cheese in the microwave. Not too long, just soften it. In a large bowl, empty the contents. And then just mix with a beater until its all mixed up. The more salsa you use, the runnier it will be. (Trust me, its better chunky. Not too chunky to break your tortilla chip though, that is key because your going to want a nice big scoop of this stuff. )

Try it and get back with me and tell me the outcome.
Enjoy

Most of the other ones are all good. But being from the midwest, you can't have a grill out without pea salad. And it's really simple. This is the basic recipe, you can double or triple it.

1 can peas, drained
6-7 slices American cheese slices, stacked and diced
1 big blop of Miracle Whip
1 spoonful of sweet relish

Mix all those to taste. People in the midwest LOVE this stuff.

The meats sound fine. I would toss in a green salad (bagged greens and cut-up tomatoes) with one or two types of dressing, corn on the cob, store-bought potato and/or macaroni salad, and maybe a fresh fruit platter. Just be sure to bring a lot of ice to chill the food, so it doesn't spoil....mayo-based foods and meats can get pretty yucky pretty quickly out in the open.

How about some veg kebobs for the non-meat eaters and dieters? Some of the classic BBQ go-withs are potatoe/macaroni salads, mac and cheese, chips and dip/salsa, 24 hour salad, baked beans...almost anything you love to eat will work. Have fun!

Don't forget grilled corn on the cob. Peel back but do not remove husk, remove silk, pull husks back over corn, soak in cold water. Place directly on grill, turning every 5 min or so. You can add seasoning before putting on grill, but I just grill it raw and let everyone put on what they want. Lawry's Season salt, and lots of butter works for me.
