We existed long before we came to earth. We will exist long after we leave the earth. Our time here is simply a testing ground to find out what we will do when removed from the presence of God. Life sucks. How we deal with heartbreak and disappointment is of the utmost importance. How we face the harsh realities of life is a sign of what we are truly made of.
After we die we are judged by God. What happens after this is content for another question.

We all have a gift, a particular talent, something that is so natural to each of us, that gives us joy and becomes a passion when we do it, its something unique to each of us, we have to discover what it is, when we do something that bores us, and makes us unhappy, that is not our purpose, only when we are happy and full of joy and passion, are we doing our purpose, and if thats brings joy and passion to others, then we are definately doing our purpose !
It is only with Wisdom do we know, that the simple things in life, are often the best !
Blessings.

Ask G_D. We each have a mission, might be something huge, might be something as simple as saving a single life.
Great example is the one teacher who was killed during the Va. Tech shooting recently. Teacher had been in the concentration camps during the war, grew up a very hard life, endured a hard life. What his mission from all this..... to save his classroom full of kids and to give his life doing so. Even his wife marks him as a hero and claims this was his life mark.

If you truly want to find out what your purpose is in this life, read the book by Rick Warren, The Purpose Driven Life. This will help you know why God created you and what it is he wants to do with your life.
God bless you!

People should ask God this in prayer. God answers.
I did. God has called me courageous, because I shared my testimony shaking in my boots. I was afraid, but did it anyway. God called me a leader in that I lead my children. God called me a teacher, in that I teach my children. God called me a bride of Christ, in that I want to be part of the 1st Resurrection. God called me a prophetess, because I hear God & have had visions or dreams of God & Prophets & angels. God has called me an intercessory prayer warrior, in that I pray for Israel & family & friends & my enemies.
Wow, I didn't realize this clearly how God has let me know my purpose.

To find the good in everything, make it a part of ourselves, learn all that we can learn, be of service to others, return to the Great Spirit to share all the goodness we possess and learn what the others have learned.
Repeat.
