It's worse than herding cats! I've even been accused of being a Christian in disguise for even suggesting Athists organize! What's up with that?!

There are a lot of reasons for this. One is the fact that atheism is NOT an "organized" religion. Most atheist try to steer clear of anything that may be comparable to organized religion.
Still there are different beliefs in atheism and some people don't want to conform into one. Simple believe how you want to believe and don't worry about others.

Atheists are hard to organize, because they differ on many things, and are only united on one issue.
Whereas christians and other religious groups are more likely to have similar group positions on other issues.

Lmao..worse than herding cats..haven't heard that one in a while. And it's probably difficult because unlike religions, we atheists have many different beliefs and morals and thoughts. We aren't sheep =).

There are Atheist community organizations everywhere. Open your eyes & look for them.
You can't be an organization without being organized.

why would you want to organize atheists into groups? its like wanting to organize Christians into groups. I wouldnt want that...an atheist is an atheist. and a Christian is a Christian, there is no need to organize them into groups...so what's your point?

No centralized set of beliefs. An atheist is someone who isn't a theist. That can be very difficult to unite.
