What a fantastic idea! Let's force people who don't want to be together and don't have the material or emotional capacity to take care of children without any support.
Are you 12 or just incredibly naive?

Absolutely not! If the two or you are not compatible enough for marriage, why raise a child in an unhappy home? That's all we would need is another law dictating how we live our family life.
And just some FYI...not all of us single mothers are on welfare or get any "give aways"...most of us do work to support our children.

Just how would you enforce that law? Even if you could force people to marry, which you can’t, you can’t make them live together unless you instituted a police state system complete with ankle bracelets. That would probably lead to more domestic violence. Some people need more instruction in civic and personal responsibility, sex education and access to contraception and decent paying jobs. Other single parents seem to do just fine raising their children and pursuing successful careers. Would you only force poor people to marry?

No that may be worse for the child than adoption or any other alternative. It would not eliminate the need for social services.
There are children having babies so they would still need support from welfare. Adoption would lessen the impact on the welfare system. As would abortion (not that I believe in it...just a fact).
BTW corporate welfare takes much more of your taxes than AFDC.

I definitely think anyone on welfare should not be able to breed. If you can't afford to have a child don't have one.
Those of us in higher tax brackets are sucked dry because of them. You can only really understand when you are in a tax bracket that wants 45 to 50 % of your income!! I tell you NO lies.

No. Then there would be even more domestic abuse than there already is, and that damages a child's mind more than being adopted or being in foster care.

That would make the baby-mamma-drama pretty dull, so I prefer the dysfunctional method.
