I don't know why people don't believe... I only know why I do.

Personally I feel most ppl want an obvious show of evidence. Many people do not know what it is like to have God in their world. We has Christians can feel the effects of having personal relationships with God but others do not have this proof. They want cold hard facts and there are somethings that can not be explained through science or physical proof.
For many it is easier to simply live a life of sin and not question if there really is a God b/c that might interfere with what they want to do. In the end, unless they can feel what it is like to have a relationship with God they won't have the proof they need until it is too late. There are many things I don't have proof of that I take is taken for cold hard fact in the world we live in today. Others question b/c they can't feel the same things we do.

Because there is no physical, pliable proof of the existence of God, or any higher being. Religion was created by people, and there is nothing that says otherwise. There are so many religions, and they generally all contradict each other. They are also the cause for so much hatred in today's society - and always have been.
Science has disproven many of our past beliefs, and some people just accept the world for what it is.

Your post already states that you know what answer is supposed to be, and establishes you with the 'superior ' argument. What would be the point of discussing the existence or not of a deity when you just set the ground rules, "He is real. He lives in our hearts".
So are you curious exactly where god is "in your heart", or do you actually want to know the nature of other beliefs, be it mono or polytheistic, or a-theistic? Do you want to know how other beliefs treat death, the afterlife, the nature of eternity, or was this a sort of mini-christian sermon rant?
Dang. This could have be fun, if not enlightening...

Logically, omnipresent beings cannot exist. You define your god as omnipresent no? Also beings outside the space-time continuum, outside the universe cannot exist (even if they did, they could have no effect so for all intents and purposes would be non-existent.) The reality of life flies in the face of the claim of an all loving all powerful god, there is simply no way such could exist there's too much hate, suffering, and cruelty in the world for that.
Morally, because your god demands worship. I don't bow to any gods and in my opinion any god that demands worship isn't worthy of it in the first place. What makes it worse in your god's case is that not only does he demand worship, he does so under the threat of eternal torture if you don't comply. Well I cannot in good conscious worship a sadistic god one who would torture people forever simply for having an honest difference of opinion. I would rather burn in hell than bow a knee.

Some people require "proof" that something exists or is correct. That's fair enough, if that is how you are wired.
Unless it comes from science, then they just believe it. Until the next scientists proves it wrong. Then they believe that. They say this is part of the process of getting it exactly right. They have no problem with this, even if it means that for long periods, effectively, they have been believing in something that is wrong. Different rules, you see.
I'm not pro-christian, necessarily, I just like to point out the hubris and hypocrisy of (some)atheists.

People don't believe in god for many reasons. I am one of them. I don't believe in god because there is no reason to believe in god. Since there is no evidence that supports the existence of any god, there is no reason to believe.
Your claim that your god is real does not constitute evidence. Your claim that your god lives in our hearts has not been validated by autopsies. Many dead people have been cut up, and lo...they have found no god in these hearts.
There is no evidence that supports the existence of any afterlife in heaven or in hell. So, it really doesn't matter very much to me what happens to me after I die. Your platitudes and exhortations to believe in your god are not adequate reasons to believe.
I do not need to be brave to tell you why I don't believe in your god. Here it is again: I don't believe because there is no evidence to support the existence of your god.

Okay. First of all - You believe.
I don't.
Second of all, where do you get off threatening me?
"it is either life in Heaven or Hell".
I don't believe in either, but you do.
So that makes it, in your heart, in your mind, a threat.
Thanks.
No, Really, I appreciate it.
I like it when Christians give me a reason to say I'm proud not to be a Christian.
You've given me a reason.
Would Jesus have threatened me?

If the Bible was so precise we would be a bunch of bored humans lallygagging through this earth plain with never a question.
What would our minds then do?
It is agreed that we are much more than what we see with our eyes.
Dog spelled backward is God.
Even scientist can`not figure out Gods science.

I'm firmly entrenched in my disbelief thank you. Even if I weren't, Cheerleaders for Christ would be very unlikely to change my mind. No wait, very unlikely's not the right words...have sod-all chance, that's the expression I was looking for. Cheerleaders for Christ would have sod-all chance of changing my mind.

some people don't believe in god because they don't have to believe in god, everyone is allowed to have their own religious views, there is no true proof that there is god or not, some might quote religious texts, but if you don't believe them, they are just words.
