Bcuz the Machiavellian people that attended the wake saw that the Dead man was being buried with his Gold Teeth,Gold watch&Gold rings
So,they put up fences to keep out the Machiavellian Grave-robbers!

Some people Think it looks nicer.
Some people that are driving by really don't wanna look at a graveyard,
It could be anything. Or its probly Tradition.

real answer... to keep wild animals (stray dogs and cats) out from digging or peeing or pooping in the graveyard....
and to keep haters (of someone who died) from destroying their tombstone...
