Because square boxes are easier to make.
Interesting observations:
1) Some pizzarias apparently trying to perfect the dough so that it tastses like the box.
2) Domino's pizza boxes are octagonal.
3) Pineapple on pizza is some people's favorite, otherwise it's just enough in frequency to irritate the other people who don't prefer pineapple.
4) Many teenagers can exist on pizza alone.
5) Fish does not belong on pizza.
6) The new 'healthy' type pizzas do not have tomato sauce on them. What is that stuff anyway? Why does the health food kick have to ruin all good things?
7) If the aliens from another planet are so smart, why aren't they being seen at pizza places picking up thier orders?
8) Crop circles kinda look like the pizzas that I've had. Hmmmm.
9) Is it a sin to have pizza on Sunday? I hope not . . . .
10) Rodents eat your pizza when you aren't looking.

They are easy to manufacture-
They are easy to handle by the delivery boys-
They give a big appearance-
