Let me put it like this,Dan Browne was a run of the mill writer and had at best little sucess, suddenly he jumps on the bandwagon of modern atheistic thought and decides to stir it up with this fictional tale, now he did put a fail safe into it that said it was not all factual and true, but he knew full well that this would be disregarded anyway, and after a short time Dan Browne becomes a best selling author and a millionaire into the process,so what do you suppose was his intial premise?

even if you don't get into religious factors the da vinci code has many historical errors that anyone who took a world history course in a high level will be able to spot... therefore if historically it has many errors you cannot believe everything he wrote..... i admit i liked the book but its just as fictional as for example "the metamorphism" of Kafka,, good reading but not a history book
