Typically I was a stupid Nineteen year old boy who got caught up rorting a major department store and ended up getting charged for stealing.
When I was younger someone told me as soon as you get a criminal record you have no chance of working overseas? Is this entirely true?
I'm Twenty Four Now, come from a respectable family and good education. Will these things help my cause?

I can't give a definite answer. You could apply for a working holidaymaker visa, the application form does ask about criminal convictions. You would be best to ask at the British High Commission first as to how they would be likely to view the offence. My guess is that, as long as you have no problem meeting the other requirements, you should be OK.

Good luck

Hi, I am in the same situation as you i am wanting to work in the States however i have a criminal record. I believe that in life we have 1 chance to put it right. I would suggest getting a quilfication before applying for a visa you are 24 yrs old you have a few years to accomplish your goals. I am working hard to gain as much expprience as possible. In england we have a time limit before our convictions are spent usually 10 years. I would talk to an lawyer or if you have an citizen advice bearu to talk to them. There are many employers that won't judge you on your past but on your future but yes having a criminal record does hinder you from accomplishing a lot of things.
