just am now dealing with this problem. my grandaughter fell on trampoline hurting hers. If the pain is running down into your leg portions you need to be checked. This type of fall can shift your pelvis out of place. This requires therapy to replace it to its proper position. Use a donut pillow to sit on. The pain will last 4 to 6 weeks normally. Take advil for pain.by the way, we spent thousands to find this out. after two weeks of therapy she is much better, still in some pain. You dont state your age, but if your a young woman, the pain is anywhere else besides your tailbone, have it checked and xrayed. You mite prevent a lifetime of problems. Ice packs will help the swelling as well as light massage.

I have had the same thing...it started when I was 1 month pregnant, and I still have it (though it's not as bad anymore). Mine was so excruciating, that I couldn't sit down sometimes! There isn't anything you can do to help it, other than stretching, taking Tylenol, or a warm bath. I see a chiropractor once a month, and that help with my back/tailbone pain some.

Bruised your tailbone. Sit on soft chairs and time will heal your problem. No Ice skating for a while. If you continue to have pain after a week or two then it could be more than just a bruise. Still if you get it x-rayed there isn't much that I know of that they can do , other that let time heal your bruise.

If I were you I would go to the dr and get Xrays. He can prescribe some pain killers. I cracked my tailbone when I was in 4th grade. 4 years later we finally went to the dr when I was hurting really bad. Arthritis had set in and my tailbone and the last vertabrae were seperating and I now have scolosis. Once it stops hurting, walk walk walk. It will help to prevent this from happening to you.

Hi I'm a doctor that specilizes in bones and you really can't do anything the pain and soreness will go away in about 3 or 4 weeks unless you would like to wear a back brace but that won't do much.
Hope you feel better,Lyn

Not much other than ice-packs. You can try buying one of those "boppy pillows" (forgot if that''s what it is called). It is shaped like a donut and sold in the baby section of Target, Wal-mart or baby stores. It will help because then your tailbone will not be in direct pressure with the chair.

Hope this will help...

Injury on the tail bone takes a very long time to heal. Especially blunt injury.

Take Arnica 1M - 4 pills 4 times a day (Homeopathic Pills)
Arnica mother tincture for application locally every 2-3 hours.
Apply the tincture with the help of a cotton swab on the affected part.

This will give you the much needed relief.

If you just bruised yourself it will take a short time to get better. If you broke something then it might take longer. Try putting some ice on it for about 10-15 minutes a few times a day.

go see a doctor cause you might have broke your tail bone or bruised it and they will give you a special donut to sit on while using the bathroom and pain killers and , it will take time and I know it hurts so try to go to the ER its no big deal OK, just do it, and take care
