Islam says the Angels are created from light and they obey God perfectly. They are by nature unable to ever disobey the Lord.
Islam says the Jinns are created from Fire and they have choice to obey or disobey God. If they obey God then they are even higher in status to the Angels since a creation that has choice is higher than a creation that has no choice.
Islam says that a Jinn worshipped so perfectly that he became leader of the Angels. His name was Azazeel. He surpassed all in heaven since he had choice and he chose to worship and obey God.
When God created man and blew his spirit into Adam everyone in the heavens were told to bow down to him. Everyone obeyed except ONE. The Jinn who was now to be cursed and punished.
He (Shaitan) asked God to give him respite (and the ability to whisper into the hearts of mankind) till the day of Judgement and he swore that he would take Adam and all his descendants into hellfire with him.
Shaitan (satan) whispered into the hearts of Adam and Eve and they slipped. Then God taught them how to repent and then the Lord FORGAVE them. But the Lord decreed that Mankind and the Jinns would be put on the earth for a short time and every single human would be tested. The test is to recognize that God is one with no partners (1st Commandment) and then voluntarily submit to his commandments. If upon committing mistakes they sincerely repent and come back to Gods commandments then God would forgive them, give them more Strength to ward off evil and raise them in ranks and piety.
God declared that all who follow the whispering of Satan (and the Jinns who join him) and die in a condition of disbelief will be punished in hellfire while all those who follow the guidance sent down through the Messengers and Prophets and die in a state of obedience would be returned to the Paradise.
Islam says that every sin CAN be forgiven in the **Hereafter (after death)** EXCEPT ONE. The Cardinal sin, the breaking of the FIRST COMMANDMENT……. God is one and he has no partners, he begets not nor is he begotten and there is none like unto him.

No, the Quran and Islam are very clear that Shaitan was in fact a JIN who had choice. He chose to disobey and he will only have a chance to disobey until the day of Judgement. After the day of Judgement nobody and nothing will be able to disobey the Lord of the Universe. Angels cannot disobey now or later.

I've heard that in Islam, angels don't have a free will of their own like humans and jinn do so therefore they have no problem in obeying Allah 100%. Humans and jinn have a free will of their own and have the choice to obey Allah or not. If they obey Allah then Allah will reward them but if they don't then they will be punished.

Mithra,
Islam is supposeed to follow our Old Testament but it evidentally forgot on this point. Satan was an angel that fell from our FATHER's home because of his tempting EVE in Eden. By the way, Eve was the ONLY wife of Adam from what is found in THE OLD TESTAMENT scriptures. Why is it that some wish to rewrite it and say there was another? Our GOD inspired the writings of the Old Testament then the NEW. Why would anyone decide to change everything that HE SAID? That is not right in my opinion. Have a great day.
Thanks,
Eds, A Simple Christian

Thank you Asyong.

Ok, I see that you state some facts about the Islamic faith but then you state something unheard of about this jinn turned angel. Where do you get such??? Angels don't disobey. They have no free will. Unlike humanbeings and jinn, they have free will.

According to the Bible, angels can disobey.
"And the angels that did not keep their original position but forsook their own proper dwelling place...." Jude 6
"Certainly if God did not hold back from punishing the angels that sinned ....." 2 Peter 2:4

well, i'm a christian
Its possible for Angels to disobey God... satan was an arch angel before he was cast down with 1/3 of the angels...
just that they were created without having a second chance, one mistake and thats it!

I am not a Muslim. But, I think you are mis-representing their Koran. Their Korans says that IBLIS--an angel who turned Satan--disobeyed Allah.
The Christian Bible says that Satan was once a cherub who became proud and wanted people to worship him like God.
He led the rebellion against God in the garden of Eden.
Am I correct, my muslim friends? Please e-mail me to correct or confirm what I said.

Interestingly,
NHSP understanding is that the Creator made all spiritual creatures, people, angels and demons.
angels and demons MUST do as they are told, they have no free will.
People are "special" because of the ability to choose.
The Creator set Angels and Demons to take part in Creation and help maintain all that is. To do this, they must do exactly as he says.
people are his balance, in us, he finds happiness, solace and companionship for we are him and he is us.
To truly appreciate this, we are sent to the physical world to understand. to learn the value of understanding, we must be free to choose. By choosing the Creator and his path, we are walking closer to understanding and our place in the spiritual world.
I hope this helped.
