We've been over the benefits: irrational child like mind that wouldn't be able to think beyond indoctrination. We know the dangers of a bright mind (Einstein, Thomas Jefferson, etc) include denying the bible as primitive superstition.
Christians damage their children's ability to think daily. However, they feel that making them retarded is bad. (of course, evolution explains this.) Why damage your child's ability to think rationally through preaching fear, threatening everlasting torture, and/or brainwashing them to believe in magic? Why is damaging their rational ability on a physical basis worse?
The avg IQ of atheists is higher than the avg IQ of believers. (This isn't saying intelligent people can't be theists. It may be saying unintelligent people are more likely theist.) But this is why parents must stress faith over evidence. Why wouldn't a parent give her child a better chance to reach heaven? They would be "childlike" and never question faith.

Einstein-I cannot conceive of a genuine scientist without that profound faith. The situation may be expressed by an image: science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.

Um, Einstein did believe in a higher power, and so did Thomas Jefferson. In fact, Einstein said that the more he learned about the universe, the more convinced he was that there was another mind much larger than ours at work. If you are truly comfortable with your beliefs, why do you criticize what others believe? Nobody can ever prove the existence or the non-existence of God, so you may be right... and you may be wrong.

You don't understand the true message of Christianity at all. It's not about preaching fear and torture, and if Christians have given you that impression in the past, it's very sad indeed.

It's about recovering a relationship with our living creator who loves us and wants to help us become the people we are meant to be. The mind-blowing thing about our message is that God has actually done everything which is needed, and all we need to do is accept his love and forgiveness.

I hope that you'll reach a point where this makes sense to you, because it's the most liberating and joyful discovery you can ever make, and it gives true meaning to life.

Retard means to hold back, not stupid. Children are full of wonder, and trust, and honesty, it is we adults that change them. And there are many highly intelligent people that have true faith, it is because of their intelligence that they can actually see the fact that God does truly exist, by just seeing the wonder of how a cell work, how a nerve works, by the beauty and flawless perfection of crystal, or snowflake. This is true rational.

Dude, as an Atheist, I say this -- you look like the retard here. Not all Christians or even Atheists, are out to make their children "retarded," or make them think as they are, as you say. And where the heck did you get this "evidence"?

We believe in free will. God saves everyone who accept Him as Savior. You actually have to be pretty silly not to take that offer. : )

You and your IQ...and still you miss the most important thing in you life here. : )
