Yes, if your under 18 or 17.

That way you won't get in too much trouble. Once you hit that age. The consequences get much greater and you have to be careful as to ware when you fight. No witnesses if you catch my drift.

Just don't kill or permanently damage anyone. Have fun!

What have the adults said that you have told? If I were the adult that you told I would take action and try meeting with the person's parents or go to the authorities if it is extremely serious. If you are blocked in a corner on your way home and that person is trying to use bodily force, then yes you have to defend yourself. Remember that fighting may become escalated and during these times people do not just fist fight, they use guns, knives, and other methods to get revenge. I do not want you to get hurt. Try again for an adult to listen to you about this situation before it gets violent.

Physically injuring someone isn't really a reasonable alternative. If the person has you backed into a corner, you must defend yourself, but in all cases it's always best to avoid physcial confrontation. It's too unpredictable, ask yourself this; How would you feel if you accidently put that person in the hospital, or perminately injured them. Even further, how would you feel if they did that to you?

2 things.

Instead of fighting, try to just avoid the individual.

or, if the person can't be avoided.

stick a tape recorder in your pocket, take pictures, gather evidence, bring witnesses. If the adults in your life don't listen, call the police. Assault is illegal no matter how old you are.

Why. What would be the point. If you are talking about physical violence...No. It is never a good idea, because you can't see what it will spiral towards. If they are being physically abusive to you...then you should defend yourself, but don't initiate. It just isn't worth it. It is satisfying for a time, but then one or both of you may be suspended, or arrested, or sent to the hospital. I was the fat kid growing up, and I got made fun of and bothered a lot...Let it go. They can't figure their own stupidity out, don't help them, walk away. Ignore them, put your headphones on and just ignore them. If they are going to resort to violence, then defend youself, but don't strike back. It will only do harm. Look what it's done to our country.

No.

You really don't want to be the one to throw the first punch/hit/whatever. You just don't.

Bullies LOVE to play that game. They'll taunt and talk smack and even call you a coward for not hitting, then when you lash out..."golly, I was just defending myself."

If you have to defend yourself, fine. Respond with the same level of force (if the person is punching you, you can't smack them over the head with a chair).

Don't initiate physical attacks, though.

As long as this is just a war of words, put the adults on notice...if it's school-related, put the school AND your parents are on notice. "This person WILL not leave me alone, I don't feel safe, and I need you to do something about it before this gets physical. I'm trying to play by the rules here, but I need you to step in."

Good luck.

I am assuming that you are a child and that someone is picking on you.

If it were me, I would embarrass them in public. I once did this to a girl who constantly kicked my seat in the classroom just to annoy me. Eventually, I turned around and shouted "GET OFF". The teacher was not overly impressed, but I tell you what, she NEVER bothered me again.

No! Violence is not the way to solve any problem. Also, if you fight, you will get in trouble.

No, never. Just walk near them with a bigger friend. That should scare them
