atheists don't have mythology where God kept the sun from setting so that his followers could finish their genocide.

That is a contradictory, double-negative question.
There is no indefinite response for either and choosing one would be an incorrect generalization.
That would be like saying something like: Are blacks peace loving people or are they the reason for all the violence?

Oh dear, we've been through this time and time again. Crusades, inquisition, for god king and country etc. How many wars started by atheists etc. blah blah blah.
Do a little research, and you'll see religion is a major factor in most, if not all wars, and then check out the number of serial killers who claimed to be doing gods work.
Atheism. You know it makes sense.

atheism, like pacifism and humanism, are fairly new ideas, and never advocated violence as an "ism" (Communists claimed to be athriests, but they had too much dogma of their own to truly be atheists).
Monotheists, on the other hand, have a laundry list of attrocities, holy wars, genocides, tortures, executions, etc.
There's no way to rationally pin violence on atheists when most violence is and has been done (and advocated) by monotheists.

Some atheists are peaceful - others aren't.
That's just like any other group of people.

They atheists here enjoy climbing into the mud just like the religious boys and girls do.
I see no differences between any of them.
A whole group of dirty, mud ladened children shouting "Your mother wears Army Boots!"
A thousand people in the streets
Singing songs and a carrying signs
Mostly say Hooray for our side!
Think it's time we stop, hey, what's that sound

Now what war was based off of Atheism...? The crusades? No, ok how about the inquisition? No? Damn! Ok, any holy wars...well no, they are "holy wars". I'd say us Atheists are BY FAR the more peaceful people!

Kent shakespear, that is cheating, to say Communists aren't really atheists. They are. They just serve to point out that there are other reasons wars happen *besides* the power-hungry religionists.

I think the people who misinterpret their religion are the reason for all the violence. How else do you justify killing people who didn't do anything to you and have never even met you?
Terrorism is usually religion-based.

Think about it for a momnent will you.
We don't believe in life after death.
That makes this life very precious indeed.
We don't burn people as witches or heretics telling them that if its wrong, they'll be with god anyway.
I think you'll find very few atheists who don't have the utmost respect for life.
