Problem with Nikon Capture Editor 4?

I'm registered but it does not open its own NEF files.
I have a D80.
says(it's not a supported image file maybe need update)
Still not working when I update.

Did you update your software in the correct order? The current version is 4.4.2 but you have to install previous patches first. (You can't simply download the latest version... that would be too easy.)
