I have been reading in today`s newspaper that sales of the movie` Oldboy` have gone thru the roof since the revelation that killer Cho Seung Hui was inspired by this violent film.

Only a few have actually commented about those who are buying this movie, which was the initial reason why I asked this question.

And? What do you want to bet it is people my age? (Teenagers-early twenties [I'm 15]) They're all followers of whatever seems to be the new "fad" (For the most part. Not all of us blindly follow the crowd! I sure as hell don't plan to!) so, if it's on the news, then it must be cool. If it is talked about by a "popular" kid, then everyone else has to talk about it too.

I would like to think it is because humans are curious and intelligent animals that want to know just why these sickos do this and try to understand that behavior so that it may one day be preventable.

Or maybe everybody is a sicko at heart and there are just levels of weirdo behavior, some passive, some aggressive.

Or....I could go on all day but you get the picture.

When people sense that there is something that is radically wrong they seem to rush to get some answers. There is always the chance that people can get caught in that sort of situation themselves and you know the saying; 'forewarned forearmed'.

I hope it wasn't a publicity stunt, that would be extreme. I would say the Christians want to watch the movie so when the preacher says something they will identify.

I think we live in a very sick society who take pleasure in things like this! We all need to give our hearts to the Lord Jesus Christ as He died on the cross to take away our sins! He said that we need to love God with all of our heart, strength, and mind and love our neighbor as ourself! We spend to much time hating and not loving!

it's a reflection on the values of our culture...however, it won't be seen as an indictment of our values, since in our culture, values and morality are pretty much relative, and not nearly as important as celebrity, wealth, and power...(sigh)

I read a couple of weeks ago that a Catholic gay teenager committed suicide because of the Vatican's declaration that homosexuality is the same as pedophilia and incest.

Go figure.

people are fascinated...it's all they are talking about
I say let it go.
Concentrate on your own life and how to make it better.
What do you have to do to get your life in order now if another insane person takes your life?
