It is due to lack of knowledge and awareness, and misinformation by ignorant people. MMR does not cause autism. It has been proved that autism is heriditary. As autism appears at about the same age as the MMR vaccine, they were wrongly linked together. That theory has now been withdrawn. Measles is a leading cause of under five mortality and morbidity in developing countries. We must try to convince people to get their children immunized.

First of all some people like myself, would rather not get "vaccinated" because of the ingredients that they make them with such as mercury, formaldyhyde, animal feces, aborted babies, genetically engineered DNA, aluminum sulfate. Children and Adults have both died from these so called shots that keep you safe from disease by giving it to you to "build " your immunity. IT is a bunch of crap so they can erase our genetic Identity and destroy the human race and make us robots that need shots and pills to survive.
Our body has its own natural immunity that works even better than that toxic crap that taints and impurifies our blood.
Don't be deceived. People that get vaccinated still get the disease, there has never been one single long term study to see if vaccination is safe and effective.
You say RELATIVELY SAFE--- sorry that is not good enough for me. must be 100%---
alot of people do not get vaccinated for similar reasons

Autism, used to be diagnosed one in about five hundred thousand...it was usually quite rare...now, since the shots, it has been diagnosed something like 1 in 163, which is outrageous....and the link is to the shots, especially the measles and rubella shots,....the mercury in these shots, freezes in the brain of a developing child, and causes the autism...look on the internet, and you will be shocked what really makes me mad, is the government and the drug companies KNOW this, and force them on kids....I have two nephews to prove it....ignorance? no..not even...........http://www.thinktwice.com/autism.htmead ..........if you cannot get the link, go to www.thinktwice.com....and search autism...the whole site is dedicated to why the shots are NOT GOOD I guess if you don't care, ignorance is bliss

An attack of German measles results in immunity to German measles alone. A single attack apparently gives lifelong immunity.

I think people are afraid of vaccines when they should really be afraid of the disease. As to the comments about vaccines causing autism that has been proven unfounded

I think it is lack of education about the seriousness of the diseases, and misinformation about possible side effects.
