A "googol" is the number 10^100.
A "googolplex" is 10^[(10)^100]. (A one followed by a googol zeros.)

a googolplex is a googol zeroes behind 1. For instance, 1 googol is 1 followed by 100 zeroes, or, in mathematics way, 10^100. A googolplex can be defined as 10^(10^100)
It's too hard to write a googolplex.

An important note, the googol and googolplex were not developed as part of any mathematical proof or insight. They are in essence, arbitrarily large and have no significance.
The largest number ever seen in mathematics that has a use is Graham's number, considerably bigger than a googolplex. It is a number so large a new kind of notation had to be developed to describe it. It exists as part of a branch of Ramsey theory, which in itself is a branch of combinatrics.

Googolplex is the highest number that mathematicians have come up with a name for. Note, though, that it's the highest number that mathematicians have come up with a name for, not the highest number, because there's no such thing.
Googolplex is 1 with google zero's. Just so you know, google is 1 with 100 zero's.
There you go. I'm glad I could help. :)

This is the number which starts with a 1 and has many zeros (1000 I think but it may be even more) following it.
It got this name because a mathematician who was working with very large numbers decided that they needed names.
He first wanted a name for the number with 100 zeros after a 1 and asked his three year old daughter what to call it. She said call it a google. He then asked her for a name for an even bigger one and she said googleplex.

It is 10^googol, or 10^(10^100).
A googol is 10 followed by 100 zeros.
