Aww he's only 8 weeks old, give him a chance!! Don't worry, I know it's hard to hear them crying, but just be sure not to condition the behaviour. I guess you'll never really know how long your pup's crying for since you're not there, but just make sure, if you do hear him crying when you leave, don't go back in to comfort him. Try to only go in when he's quiet. Meanwhile, before you leave, make sure he's got enough toys and games (e.g. kongs, treat balls) to keep him occupied while you're gone.

Don't make a big deal out of leaving the house or coming back in (even though it's tempting to shower hugs and kisses when you return!). Just keep comings and goings simple - like its no big deal when you leave or come back. Just hang in there and things will get easier :)

you dog has to realise that even if you go out your still coming back.
If you dog starts crying & you keep going in the room to calm him your teaching him bad manners as he will soon learn that he crys you go running & will do it more. Where does it sleep? A dog must have a place to sleep that is not with you. mine sleeps in the sitting room door locked he sleeps there & knows when the doors get locked its bed time till i get back in. When I do get back in he is excited & does not get spoken to till has calmed down.
Try this.
You tell the dog bed. Your going out
wait 5 mins go in through different door. wait till calm then tell him how good he/she is praise wait couple mins then do it again. do this about 4 times every day a little longer each time, he /she will soon learn. by 4 times I mean one after the other. To long will get bored.

Thats correct dont make a big fuss and that will help. Also you can try giving him a kong toy or a hollow marrow bone with some peanut butter or squeese cheese in the hollow. Probably he will be so buzy licking it out he will never notice you left!

If you keep on running, he will keep on whining (not crying, he is not human). Thats probably half your problem, youre thinking of him like he is a child. Make sure you have provided everything he needs and then LEAVE. There are some great ideas for keeping him happy in the link below.
