Blackwater USA is a mercenary army created by a member of the christian far right, Erik Prince.

The Bush administration loves using them as they are not bound by the same rules of engagement as the USA military. They have the world's largest privately owned military base at 7000 acres.

Isn't it against the ideals of christianity to own a mercenary army that operates outside the laws that control regular armies?

Do American christians understand that this stuff makes them look really dangerous to the eyes of the rest of the world?

I first learnt of this private army when I read the linked article.

No religion should have armies and neither should any nation.

I have know members - I will not say which state I was in - Good People! Blackwater is a very Excellent Group! They NEVER GO OUT unless there is a War! That's what they do. They do not go out to start wars - NO! They do assist and help our military! Sometimes the military do not know exactly who they are - That is the way it DOES work. They have a mission the Spread Democracy and the Word to the World. They are not a bunch of mean guys. These are people who are trained and they are the 'Best' in what they do and know.

The Bible does talk about Christian Armies......

Please be at Peace.

Take Care and God Bless!

Christians have always had Armies. Mercenaries are a feature of the Christian Religion. Ther Pope still has his Swiss Guard.

Your ridiculous paranoid opinion has been noted, and given the fact that our enemies are NOT bound by any rules, hide behind women and children, take refuge in mass murder mosques, worship death, and spread hate like an epidemic disease, I give 100% support to any such defense, and lets not overlook the fact that the Geneva convention rules do not apply to our military either, given the fact that the war against terror is not an actual military VS military war, it's a fight against several large groups of renegade genocidal maniacs with an agenda to conquer the world and force their death cult upon every worldwide culture with the exception of the Jewish culture of which they seek to wipe off the face of the planet, so NO, it's not fair to dub them a fundamentalist army.

I also think it is a threat to democracy when people can start forming private armies and it is against common sense to allow it
