India is the one of the best Cricket team in the world.

Indian Cricket team is good but their mentality is not good enpugh. They are not united as a Team and have attitude for each other. That's why Greg Chappel started creating problem among them and saying senior-junior stuff..which was never heard before. Basically I can say.. BCCI,Selection Committee including cricketers think they are above of everyone including Country. So Whatever BCCI wants.. they do, selectors say something but select a team not based on performance and players do not play as a TEAM.
If they play as a TEAM... They would be number 1.

While India is a good team, the only draw back is that they do not perform to their potential consistently.

Depends which sport you mean.
Soccer = useless.
Cricket = ok.
Hockey and Kabbadi = Top notch.
