Post Impressionism was not an art movement. It was a time period. It means "after impressionism". It occured in France the country of Impressionism. Some of the most famous "post impressionist" artists were Van Gogh, Lautrec, Gauguin, Rousseau, Cezanne, Seurat, Signac, as well as the original impressionists: Monet, Renoir, Pissaro, & Degas who continued to paint through this period and beyond. The Impressionists and the "Post Impressionists" had an influence through much of Europe, the U.S. and Canada. I hope this has been a help to you.

Post_impressionsism was not an art movement in the sense of having a minfesto, or any unifying qualities among it's adherants.
It's just a name given to all those painters who responded to Impressionsim.
