I am looking to buy this firearm for 435.00 dollars as advertised on Gunsamerica.com However when i called the gun shop they said that price is gonna be changed soon... Do I legally have the right to the price i saw it advertised at... not this extra 40 dollars tacked on...Isn't there a law nationally about what you see is what you get? otherwise its false advertising right?

Thanks for all answers ahead of time.

It just so happens to be a rare gun to find in the setup that this one is... with the trademarks I want on it and the full metal full size... It is an ACTUAL import... not the magnum research version. thanks for all input thus far

No, you do not have a right to the price you see advertised unless the seller had never had any intention of selling the item to anyone at that price. Typically sales of merchandise are governed by the UCC (Uniform Commercial Code) and the common law of contracts. Under general principles of contract formation there is an offer and an acceptance. Catalogs, etc., USED to be viewed as offers to which the buyer agrees, accepting the offer and forming a contract between the two parties. The modern analysis, however, views the advertisement as merely a solicitation for offers. So when you try to order something from a catalog you are offering to buy the item at the price listed in the catalog and the seller is under no legal obligation to accept your offer.

Please, note these are general principles of contract law and actual laws in your state may be different and you should check them out if you are really concerned about the extra $40.

Why do you want to buy a gun anyway? You should check out the statistics on how many people are killed with their own guns, etc.

yes, you should sue.

most lawyers will charge you a flat fee of $2,000.00 and that is a pretty good deal for you.

you can spend $2,000.00 so that you can save $40.00.

i would also be willing to be that same $2,000.00 that somewhere on that ad is the phrase 'prices can be changed without prior notice.

i'm going way out on a limb and guess that you have lots of time on your hands...

You could sue, but then you would be angering a person who happens to be in possession of an arsenal

Not very bright!

Take your business elswhere, theres plenty of gun dealers
