How do you get a Hollywood Star on the Walk of Fame? And who "gives" it to you, the city/mayor, fans? Is it a voting thing?

The person in question is nominated, and the selection committee looks over all the nominated, and picks "X" number of people to honour.

The honouree(s) is/are then notified, and a convenient day / time is arranged for the ceremony. The star then pays for the star (this started back in the 70's[?]), and the ceremony goes ahead.

Trivia: Only *one* artist has stars in all four categories: Radio / Television / Motion Picture / Records.

If you really want to know...try using a search engine (like google, for one) to look it up... ;) You'll have so much info on the Walk of Fame that you'll not know what to do with it, and the information will be more accurate than what you'll receive here.

The star actually pays for it. They have to put in paperwork and talk to the board of directors. Then they decide if they get the star or not.
