Tom Selleck was tied up in his Magnum tv contract and couldn't play the role of Indiana Jones in 1981 (Pierce Brosnan missed out on James Bond in the mid-80s because of a similar situation on Remington Steele, unlike Tom Selleck, Pierce got another chance to play Bond ten years later).

I think it would be nice to give Tom a part in the last ever Indiana Jones film. God knows his career needs a break now more than ever.

wow, i hadn't heard this before. yeah, i bet he has kicked himself over the years...

and even Brosnan. by the time he came to the Bond series, it was a little late (for the dark haired Bonds anyway).

though i thought he and Zimbalist (where the heck is she?!) were a hoot, i wish he could have left the series immediately to do Bond.

yes, i would like him to do a part in the new Indy if possible.

i would also like for him and Sam Ellliott to do another western together--while it is still credible for them to be gunfighters.

Hey, at least Tom Selleck has had time on the big screen but what about me, I want a chance to audition for the new Indy Movie. Those movies are some of my all time favorite! I don't have to have a main role, I'll settle for a supporting role, OK, I'll even settle for a role as an extra, OK, I'll even settle for a shot where I am in the background and can only be seen with a pair of binoculars as long as I get to be in the credits perhaps as "guy in the background that can only be seen with binoculars" linked to my name of course. Mr. Spielburg are you reading this?

My popular Tom is: (a million) Tom Hanks -- between the suited dramatic actors and directors. (2) Tom Selleck -- good-looking guy. Love black hair and blue eyes. (3) Tom Jones -- sturdy singer for the time of his day and that i observed considered one of his shows while i develop right into a youthful teenager in Las Vegas.

No

But Tom did do an Indiana Jones like Magnum PI episode. I thought that was quite fitting.

Tom Selleck as Indiana Jones? Maybe The Rock should have played Rocky Balboa in the last Rocky too? NOT!

Tom Sellecks less known but probably best efforts were his westerns, Quigley Down under being the best one, I could see him maybe being a salty soldier, but he's really too nice to imagine him as being a bad guy, though I guess it is possible.

Tom Selleck rules and he very much deserves that part to remind the rest of the world of that fact.

Only if he could wear those little shorts from Magnum PI! But it would depend on his schedule, now that he's been written in to Las Vegas to replace James Caan.

Maybe Tom shouldn't have tongue-kissed Kevin Kline in "In and Out" & he might not need a break now. Up until that point he was Mr. All America to me. Now, he's nasty.
