Fertile couples have a 25 percent chance of getting pregnant each cycle, even when they have sex right around the time of ovulation. However, it can take more than a year for some perfectly fertile couples. After a year of trying, 75 to 85 percent of couples will have conceived.
If you don't get pregnant after a year of trying, see a fertility specialist so that you may consider infertility treatments such as infertility drugs or assisted reproductive technology (ART).

Do you know when - or if - you ovulate? There are some signs that your body gives you when you ovulate. Generally you ovulate 14 days before the first day of your next period starts - but you may not ovulate every cycle. Are your cycles regular enough to tell when that might be? If not, there are other signs that you are ovulating. There is a thin mucus discharge from the vagina 2-3 days before, which thickens the day of ovulation, and disappears the day after. There is a slight temperature rise (when taken vaginally) first thing in the morning at the time of ovulation of 1/2 degree centigrade. There are Ovulation Test Kits, available from supermarkets and chemists that can help take the guess work out of when you ovulate. Then you should have sex the day before, the day of and the day after.
Also have you come off a contraceptive pill? Some women take up to 6 months to have their bodies get back into rhythm. The same if you have had the contraceptive shots.
Are you or your partner very over weight or underweight? This can effect your ability to conceive also.
Also you may need to relax, as too much stress can muck up your hormone balance, making it difficult to conceive.
Give yourselves 12 months of trying, then see a doctor to rule out other problems. And lastly are you sure that either you or your partner is not sterile? I'm not saying this is the case, and a doctor won't even run tests until you have been trying for 12 months and haven't conceived.

When we first decided to try for a baby the initial thinking is it this month and so on over took the whole process and ended up stressing us out as we relaxed a little things changed and 6 months after trying we found out we were expecting, try having sex every other day giving the sperm chance to grow strong in between and just relax it will happen eventually and 3 months isnt a long time really (although I know it feels that way to you being the one hoping for a baby). When I was on depo after having my twins we decided when they were 3 to try for a third this took 2 yrs due to the depo but eventually our little princess arrived. Just try and relax and I'm sure things will be fine, all the best :)

Its seems clear to me you are trying to hard,Your frame of mind is 'Come on When will it happen' Why isnt it happening'...i see many woman come into our clinic like this.Getting pregnant isnt as easy as 123 as people assume a healthy fertile couple only has a 30% chance of concieving each month. You have to try and relax and not make your lovemaking into baby baby baby i swear by telling woman as soon as they relax and try to put it to the back of there minds it happens.Enjoy sex with your partner and forget that your doing it for a baby. Some other helpful advice would be when you are due on count 14days back and this will give you a rough ovulation date you could then get a ovulation test and see if you are its best to have sex every other day not everyday sperms live inside and are viable for up to 4 days and it gives the sperm chance to build up.Goodluck to you stay positive and dont worry to much untill 12months have passed without succsess

These days it is not uncommon to take a couple with normal fertility up to 12 months to concieve natrually. It is recommended that you seek advice from your gp after this time.
Make sure you are eating healthy, stop drinking, and reduce alchol intake which all apply to your partner too. Make sure he does not have hot baths as this is proven to affect sperm quality and if he wears pants suggest boxer shorts.
Make sure you know your fertile period too. There are many things on the market such as ovulation kits that will tell you when your best 2 days are to concieve. You can also look up on the web about tempurture charts as they are helpfull to pinpoint when your body ovulates.
Good luck and remember make love for fun, try not to get worried and stressed!

I've been told that stressing too much about the conception can contribute to the lack of results. I've also heard that couples sometimes stop having fun when shagging and concentrate too much on 'getting results' which leads to further stress. I'd say, just take it easy, eat loads of fresh veggies - ones that are rich in folic acid for baby's development and try to relax as much as possible. take some exercise to improve health and stimulate good blood flow and don't be afraid to keep the lines of communication open with a good and trusted doctor. Like the one contributor said, sometimes it happens quickly and sometimes it takes longer!
I'd say enjoy the journey, you'll get to the destination...
Holding thumbs for ya!

it varies from woman to woman for some women it may take a couple of years other get pregnant the first time they try.
Try this if you aren't already have sex every other day of your cycle then on your most fertile 5 days have sex every day ( these would be 2 days before and 2 days after ovulation and the day of ovulation.Ovulation usually occurs 14 days before your cycle starts ) also try to stay in bed for at least 30 Min's after sex with a cushion under your bum to help the sperm get to where it needs to go.
Don't give up hope it will happen soon enough hth and good luck hope you get your positive very soon

3 months is not a long time. What contriception were you on before trying, some say that it can take a year for it to fully come out of your system.
Don't worry at all yet when it happens it will happen.
Take things easy, don't stress about it, try not to monitor your periods as that leads to stress and have rumpy pumpy often.

Maybe if you relax by having a few drinks it'll happen... ?!
:)
My husband and I tried for SEVEN YEARS to conceive our first child so... 3 months seems like a drop in the bucket to me... We finally conceived with the help of fertility drugs.
You are only considered to be having fertility problems if you have been actively trying to conceive with well-timed intercourse for the period of ONE YEAR without success. You still have a ways to go before you should be concerned.
Best of luck!
