Well, yes, you CAN spit in it and put a glazing on the inside of the mask, but remember that the tissue of the eye is the second most absorbent on the body, so anything germ-like or bad in your spit will have fumes of it absorbed into your eye. There is a product available at most dive shops called something like no-fog or anti-fog. It is formulated without any damaging or hazardous chemicals and will keep the mask from fogging up. Otherwise, just breach, rinse and reseal the mask from time to time. There is also a Rain-X variant product used to prevent the inside of your car's windscreen from fogging over, but who knows what chemicals are in that.

Clean masks with toothpaste - The best thing to do is to clean all masks with toothpaste. This removes a factory film that predisposes masks to fogging. Simply take some toothpaste (non-gritty), dab it on the mask, spread it evenly, and let it sit for an hour or so. Then add a little water, and make sure you clean the entire lens (or lenses). Rinse, and store.

Before each use, dab any of the many commercial anti-fog devices, baby shampoo, or your spit on the mask at least 20 minutes before the dive. Rinse once (just once), put the mask on, and don't take it off. You should have no problems with fogging.

Here's a video I found.

It talks about using bandaids to depressurize the inside thus reducing fog longer than anti foggers.

Spit in it with saliva, rub it around, rinse it out. or commercially available anti-fog - works great but you have to re-apply every now and then

Spit in your mask, spread it over the inside surface, then *rinse it out*...

Once you have done this, don your mask, and hop in.

Works like a charm!
